Review – Nothing Sacred, A Magazine of the Macabre

Editor Nathon Allen Balka and Illustrator François Vaillancourt

(Review by Roma Gray)

When I was a kid, I used to love to get short story magazines. Analog, Science Fiction and Fantasy, Weird Tales…the list goes on and on. There was something special and exciting about getting that new magazine in the mail. The artwork created for the stories, discovering which stories they would pick for each issue, the articles…I just loved it…and missed it.

Well, I shall miss it no more. I recently discovered a new magazine, Nothing Sacred, A Magazine for the Macabre. This instantly reminded me of the old days. Beautiful, sometimes nearly opulent artwork, a unique selection of exceptional horror stories, not to mention the occasional unexpected cartoon or other literary point of interest. I instantly fell in love with it. The quality, the look…and I even found a story by one of my favorite authors (Brian James Lane). I dare say this magazine has scratched an itch I’ve had for a very long time.

If you are a cyber kid at heart, love the world wide web and can’t imagine how people managed to survive before its arrival, give this a try. You may discover that you’ve been missing out on something special all along. This magazine is a rare treasure indeed.”
