Book Name and Description: Daemon Persuasion
Interview Questions:
What gave you the idea for Daemon Persuasion?
I have always loved the idea of writing a badass heroine and Mackenzie Murphy, the main character, fits the bill. I also wanted to write something other than vampires so I chose demons. The demons in my books are split into different families with different abilities.
What got you into writing in this genre?
I grew up watching shows like Buffy and Charmed. I love the idea of this secret supernatural world hiding in plain sight.
How long have you been writing?
I’ve been writing from a very young age. Maybe seven or eight.
Tell us about your past books and stories?
I write a mix of horror, urban fantasy and paranormal romance. My characters range from demons, witches, supernatural beings and ordinary humans in extraordinary circumstances. My most recent book is called Grave Danger about a woman called Aurelia
Graves who is a necromancer.
How do you think you’ve evolved creatively?
I think my grammar has improved and my ability to plot stories.
What tools do you feel are must-haves for writers?
For me I always have a notebook and pen handy. That and a decent laptop are all you need.
How do you market your work? What avenues have you found to work best for your genre?
I use a mix of Facebook, Twitter and my newsletter. There are a lot of great promotion groups out there.
What are you doing next?
I am writing the fourth and final book in the Daemon Persuasion series – Daemon War. I also have several shorts to finish.
What advice would you give aspiring writers?
Don’t give up. Don’t worry too much if your book doesn’t appeal to everyone, it isn’t supposed to.
