Book Review – Earthworm Gods by Brian Keene

Brian Keene (born September 22, 1967) He is an American author and podcaster, primarily known for his work in horror,  strange fiction and comic books. He has won the 2014 World Horror Grandmaster Award and 2 Bram Stoker awards.

He is on Facebook and has his own website and internet radio show- which is very entertaining and informative.

His story Earthworm Gods is a post- apocalyptic tale of biblical proportions. Imagine a world that is ravaged by a non-stop rain that brings gods in the manor of worms to the survivors of a small mountain top town- These survivors are brought about by the characters of two old men.

The worms and rain aren’t the only thing these two face for the worms devastate everything around them and these are no average worms- these worms are as big or bigger than city busses.

Another survivor lies miles away on top of a very tall sky tower. His nightmare isn’t worms for the water has risen to cover the earth. His nightmare is something more terrifying in the shape of a kraken.

Nothing will survive this Lovecraft-like trope. This story will definitely give one nightmare dreams, a fantastic adventure for all readers
